SENATE ELECTIONS AND HONESTY
The results of the 37-seat Senate are likely to be released by the time
these lines are published, but what has happened so far is still under
discussion.
In this regard, it is not necessary to say that personal
and group interests take precedence over national interests in our policy, and
there is a terrible lack of transparency and honesty. Clear manifestations of these tendencies emerged from both the government
and the opposition. The Prime Minister
strongly opposed the direct allocation of development funds to members of
parliament, and rightly called this method a tool to promote political
corruption,
Was rejected by the Supreme Court after receiving Suo
Motu's notification, but could not be called anything other than an attempt to
gain votes or conscience for government candidates in special meetings that
were later allegedly repeated this meeting? Not only that, but the same government declared freedom of conscience in
the last Senate elections so that members of the opposition could vote for
their candidates in a secret ballot. This time to finish the
show-off application.
For this reason, he came to the Supreme Court and made every effort to
adopt the method of raising his hand instead of the secret ballot in the Senate
elections and to force the MLAs of the parties to vote for the candidates of
their parties.
Then, without waiting for the court's opinion, a
presidential decree was issued in his favor. The question is, in this case, how
can freedom of conscience, which was previously considered inevitable, be
preserved? How was the threat of revenge against the relevant member prevented
by the party leadership? Of course, vote-buying
must end, and the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the government so that more
votes could be cast for the Election Commission than by the party. In this
case, if there is any vote dispute, the issue can be accepted by the Election
Commission. Government officials also accused the opposition of taking the
vote, which shows a lack of trust in its party and allies, while giving the
impression that the government itself had given several billionaires Senate
tickets to vote. The video and voice of the opposition were also broadcast
yesterday
۔ The results must be brought to the attention of the nation as soon as
possible. However, video footage of the recent Senate elections is still
stalled, showing the buying and selling of voice puppets in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In the announcements, such cases generally do not lead to a logical conclusion,
which reinforces the idea that these tactics are used only for their own
benefit, while there is no real sense of reform behind transparency and honesty
in politics. Both the government and the opposition are committed to double
standards, which has made our policy another name for hypocrisy. Both the government and the opposition must end these relations and take sincere
and effective measures of mutual cooperation to promote political transparency,
without which the goal of national development and stability can never be
achieved.
