FORMER PRESIDENT GENERAL PERVEZ MUSHARRAF PASSED AWAY IN DUBAI
Former President General Retired Pervez
Musharraf passed away in Dubai at the age of 79 after a long illness.
The family of the former president has said that
the former president Pervez Musharraf has died in the early morning in the
hospital in Dubai.
The former
president was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dubai
According
to sources, retired general Pervez Musharraf was undergoing treatment at the
American Hospital in Dubai for a long time.
Request to
bring dead body of Pervez Musharraf to Pakistan
The
family of former President General Retired Pervez Musharraf has submitted an
application to the Dubai Consulate to take the dead body to Pakistan.
Family sources say that Pervez Musharraf will be
laid to rest in Karachi.
According
to the sources, the plane from Pakistan will reach Dubai tomorrow morning to
take the dead body of Pervez Musharraf.
The
special plane will arrive at Dubai's Al Maktoum Airport from Noor Khan Air
Base.
It
should be noted that former President General Retired Pervez Musharraf's mother
is buried in Dubai and his father is buried in Karachi.
Pervez
Musharraf was born in Delhi
Former
President Pervez Musharraf was born on August 11, 1943 in Delhi, and studied at
St. Patrick's High School in Karachi.
Pervez
Musharraf later studied at FC College Lahore and was commissioned in the
Pakistan Army in 1961.
General retired Pervez Musharraf graduated from
Command and Staff College Quetta and also did courses from Royal College and
Defense Studies UK.
Former
President Pervez Musharraf later joined the Special Services Group, he also
participated in the wars of 1965 and 1971.
Pervez
Musharraf assumed the post of Chief of Army Staff on October 7, 1998.
Pervez Musharraf is also known as the protagonist
of the Kargil operation.
In 99, Nawaz
Sharif ended the government and became the Chief Executive
On
October 12, 1999, Pervez Musharraf ended Nawaz Sharif's government and assumed
the post of Chief Executive.
Pervez
Musharraf accepted the US offer to become a frontline ally after the 9/11
attacks.
In
April 2002, Pervez Musharraf was elected as the President of Pakistan in a
referendum.
In 2004, Pervez Musharraf was elected president
for another 5 years after passing the 17th amendment to the constitution with
the support of Muslim League-Q.
Retired
General Pervez Musharraf in November 2007 took unconstitutional steps to remove
the judges of the Supreme Court, which created a major controversy and the
independence of the judiciary movement began.
General
Pervez Musharraf had to resign from the position of the army chief on November
28, 2007 after 9 years.
He
was sworn in as president on 29 November 2007 for a new term of 5 years, but
could not remain in office for long and resigned on 18 August 2008 and left the
country.

Musharraf was sentenced to death by the court
On
December 17, 2019, Pervez Musharraf was sentenced to death by a special court
after declaring him guilty under Article 6.
High treason case
was filed against Pervez Musharraf during the Nawaz Sharif regime.
On
March 31, 2016, Pervez Musharraf was present in the court at the time of
indictment. Later, due to illness, Pervez Musharraf went out of the country.
