THE POLICE RETREATED IN THE ONGOING OPERATION TO ARREST IMRAN KHAN
Police retreated after stone pelting,
shelling, vandalism and commotion during the ongoing operation in Zaman Park
Lahore since yesterday to arrest Chairman PTI Imran Khan.
It
has been decided by the police that a new strategy will be decided until the
end of the PSL match, but the siege of Zaman Park will continue.
Police
and PTI workers continued to face each other since yesterday, lawyers also
reached Zaman Park along with the workers.
Government
sources say that the police have stopped the advance because of the PSL match,
the police will not advance until the match is over.
On
the other hand, Punjab's Caretaker Information Minister Aamir Mir has said that
the operation to arrest Imran Khan in Zaman Park has been temporarily stopped,
this operation has been stopped due to today's PSL match.
What happened
before that?
Earlier, efforts to arrest Chairman PTI, former
Prime Minister Imran Khan in Lahore were continuing from this morning.
After the shilling stopped, Imran Khan came to
the lawn of the house to meet the workers, where he put a mask on his face and
talked to the workers.
Petrol bomb
blast, electricity transformer exploded
A
transformer exploded near Lahore's Zaman Park with a loud explosion, the
transformer allegedly exploded due to petrol bombs being thrown.
A car also caught fire after petrol bombs were
thrown outside Zaman Park.
Meanwhile,
10 PTI workers were arrested from outside Zaman Park, after which the police
took these arrested workers into a detention van.

pelted stones on Rangers and police
Today, along with the police, a heavy contingent
of Rangers also reached Zaman Park.
Fresh
police forces and PTI activists came face to face early in the morning,
Tehreek-e-Insaaf activists pelted stones at the Rangers along with the police.
A Rangers official was also injured in stone
pelting by PTI workers.
Police
once again used tear gas shelling and water cannon to disperse PTI workers
outside Lahore's Zaman Park.
So far 65
injured
According
to hospital sources, 65 people have been injured in the clashes between the
police and workers, 58 police personnel, 1 Rangers personnel and 8 civilians
are also included in the injured.
Hospital
sources said that 51 police personnel were brought to Services Hospital and 3
to Mayo Hospital.

morning, the police were forced to retreat
Early
in the morning, the police advanced towards Zaman Park from 3 directions,
Dharmapura, Mall Road and Sunderdas Road.
The
police reached Gate No. 1 but were forced to retreat after stone pelting and
attacks by PTI workers.
Water cannons,
motorcycles, fire brigades were set on fire
Demonstrators
set fire to police water cannons, damaged police vehicles, and burnt
motorcycles of traffic wardens.
The
fire tender of Rescue 1122 arrived to douse the fire and the workers also set
it on fire.

police retaliated by lathi-charging the PTI workers, washing them with water
cannons.

Islamabad Shehzad Bukhari, SP Amara Shirazi, DPO Sheikhupora were also injured
in the stone pelting.
Some shells
fell in Imran's house
The
police fired shells during which some shells also fell inside Imran Khan's
house.
PTI
workers ransacked the mall road, broke fancy lights, uprooted trees, broke the
tuff tiles on the footpath and threw stones at the police, after the clashes,
the mall road was cleared.
15 PTI workers
arrested
More
than 15 workers of PTI were arrested by the police.
Imran Khan's
non-bailable arrest warrant restored
It
should be noted that the Islamabad court had restored Imran Khan's non-bailable
arrest warrant while pronouncing a reserved judgment on the immunity petition
filed by Chairman PTI in the Tosha Khana case.
The
court had ordered the police to arrest and produce Imran Khan on March 18. It
is the job of the police to produce Imran Khan in court.
The
court also rejected Imran Khan's plea for exemption from attendance, after
which the PTI chairman's non-bailable arrest warrant was reinstated
