ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) has issued a detailed order annulling the decision of the Lahore High Court (LHC) regarding recruitment in MEPCO. 

The verdict said that judicial review does not mean the exercise of administrative powers, the tendency of judges to violate the constitution must be stopped, if traditions are not respected, a constitutional crisis arises.

Judges should abide by the law instead of being emotional. No pillar of the state can interfere in the affairs of another. Interference in the administrative affairs of the judiciary is against the tripartite division of powers. 

The five-page judgment, written by Justice Mansoor Ali Shah of the Supreme Court, said that the tendency of judges to go beyond the constitutional limits must be stopped. The judge should stay within the ambit of the law instead of getting emotional.

It is to be noted that the High Court judge had ordered the recruitment of a person named Muhammad Ilyas, on which the decision said that it was not the job of the judiciary to use the powers of the administration. Interference in the administrative affairs of the judiciary is against the tripartite division of powers. 

According to the decision of the Supreme Court, if traditions are not respected, a constitutional crisis arises. The power of judicial review does not mean taking administrative matters into one's own hands. No pillar of the state can interfere in the territory of another. 

The judge will misuse his powers to exceed the constitutional limits. In addition, the Supreme Court has directed to send the decision to the concerned judge of the Lahore High Court.
