142 MORE DEATHS FROM CORONA, MAY 8-16 TOURIST DESTINATIONS, PUBLIC TRANSPORT, PARKS, RESTAURANTS, SHOPPING MALLS COMPLETELY CLOSED, ALL EXAMS INCLUDING O LEVEL POSTPONED TILL JUNE 15
Karachi, Rawalpindi 142 more deaths, 4400 new patients, positive rate 10 records, 87,794 active cases in 24 hours from Corona, 81% in Gujranwala, 69% in Lahore, 78% in Peshawar, 73% in Mardan is on ventilators.
The government has announced the complete closure of tourist destinations, public transport, parks, restaurants, shopping malls from May 8 to 16. All examinations, including O-level, have been postponed till June 15. Examinations can be held from July to August. O-level examinations will be held in October-November. The NCOC also directed to avoid large gatherings on Shab-e-Qadr, Jumu'ah-ul-Wada 'and Eid.
According to media reports, Corona deaths continue in the country as a result of which 142 more people died from the virus while more than 4400 cases were also reported.
The corona virus-positive rate in the country was 10, the number of deaths from corona in the country has reached 17329 and the total number of cases has reached 84939
O-level examinations will be held in October-November, the education system will be reviewed in the third week of May, Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood said during a press conference that there will be no examinations in the country until June 15, 2021.
O and A level examinations will also, be held in October-November, the situation will be reviewed again in the third week of May, ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth examinations may go till July and August, university admissions will continue till January.
According to the Interior Ministry, the ban on tourism will remain in place during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, tourist sites and all surrounding restaurants, public parks, coastal areas and hotels will be completely closed, while inter-provincial and intercity transport will also be closed during the Eid holidays.
The notification said that roads leading to Murree, Galyat, Swat, and Kalam would remain closed during Eid holidays, roads leading to coastal areas and northern areas would also remain closed despite the fact that locals of Gilgit-Baltistan would be permitted to go back
