ARMED GROUPS NOT ALLOWED, VIOLENT
PROTESTS CANNOT PUT PRESSURE ON STATE: PM
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that everyone has the right to make demands. He said that armed groups cannot be allowed to disturb the peace of the country.
On Thursday, a meeting of federal ministers and government leaders were held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister. Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid gave a briefing on the law and order situation while the participants were taken into confidence over the decision to ban Tehreek-e-Libek.
On this occasion, Imran Khan said that everyone has the right to make demands but violent protests cannot be allowed nor can the state be put under pressure by holding violent protests. We will not allow anyone to disturb law and order.
The Prime Minister directed Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid and Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Noor-ul-Haq Qadri to take the nation into confidence on the situation and asked them to hold press conferences to make the people aware of the situation.
The Prime Minister said that the spirit with which the police and security agencies have established peace is commendable. All the agencies including the Police and Rangers have done an excellent job.
