JAHANGIR TAREEN AND HIS SON'S INTERIM BAIL, SUGAR MILLS REFUSES TO GIVE SUGAR RS 80 PER KG
LAHORE: A banking court in Lahore has granted interim bail to Jahangir Tareen and his son Ali Tareen in a Chinese scandal case. The court ordered not to arrest the father and son in the fake bank accounts case till April 10 in the April 7, Chinese scandal and sought all records from the FIA at the next hearing.
On the other hand, the sugar mills have refused to pay Rs 80 per kg of sugar. The owners of the sugar mills say that sugar is Rs 80 per kg. The sales tax should be abolished.
According to details, the Lahore Banking Court has granted interim bail to PTI leader Jahangir Tareen and his son Ali Tareen in the fake bank accounts case and restrained the father and son from arresting them till April 7. The case record has also been sought from the FIA.
In addition, Additional Sessions Judge Hamid Hussain granted interim bail to Jahangir Tareen and Ali Tareen in the Chinese scandal case till April 10 and directed them to submit a bond of Rs 1 lakh each. Ali Tareen's interim bail application was heard.
During the hearing, Jahangir Tareen and Ali Tareen appeared in the court and completed their attendance. Both of them stated that they are innocent, an inquiry has been started against the facts and a case has been registered against them. I would like to give an answer through investigation.
The FIA has registered a baseless case. The court restrained Jahangir Tareen and Ali Tareen from being arrested till April 7 and also directed the accused to submit bail bonds of Rs 5.5 lakh.
Meanwhile, the owners of Sugar Mills have said that they will not supply sugar at Rs 80 per kg. The government should close the mills and import sugar. We are not against the government. We want to help it. We want to meet the Prime Minister and negotiate. Want to resolve the issue.
Addressing a press conference along with Chaudhry Waheed, Ali Saleem, Asad Aslam, and Hassan Iqbal at the office of Pakistan Sugar Mill Association Punjab at Zafar Ali Road Gulberg, Javed Kayani said that the issue of the sugar industry was a misunderstanding. And it is being born out of ignorance. We want to resolve the issue through talks, we want to meet the Prime Minister, for which inquiries should be closed.
Serving the country, they make sugar by buying 3 million acres of sugarcane crop. The price of sugar during the season was Rs 90 per kg but now the price has been fixed at Rs 80 per kg. The issue should be resolved through negotiations and understanding. The government says we have to pay Rs 446 billion in taxes.
We will not get that much money by selling 80 sugar mills in the country. It is not our responsibility to look for identity cards from sugar buyers. We always give 20,000 tons of sugar in Ramadan bazaars. The government should create mechanisms to give sugar to the poor. However, 95% of the payments have been made to the sugarcane farmers and the remaining 5% will be paid soon.
Mills will not supply sugar at Rs 80 per kg. If you want to buy sugar at this price, abolish the sales tax. Jahangir Tareen is a member of the association. He does not want to say anything about them. All members are honorable. Can sell He demanded that the condition of payment of sugarcane to the farmers within 15 days should be abolished and the fair price of sugar should be fixed.
