PUNJAB CALLS FOR PARAMILITARY FORCES, FEDERAL CABINET APPROVES DEPLOYMENT OF RANGERS IN MAJOR CITIES INCLUDING LAHORE, PINDI, NOT RELEASING ANYONE: SHEIKH RASHID
ISLAMABAD: The Federal Cabinet has approved the deployment of Rangers in different cities of Punjab, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Gujarat, Bahawalpur, Mandi Bahauddin, Jhelum and Bahawalnagar. The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan, reviewed the situation created by the religious party's protest and the steps taken by the Home Minister.
Talking after the federal cabinet meeting, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said that no decision was taken in the meeting to release anyone. On this occasion, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi said that the Prime Minister has made it clear that no one is in control of the law. It Will not be allowed.
Ali Zaidi said that the officials of security agencies gave a detailed briefing to the Prime Minister in the meeting, the Prime Minister is aware of the entire law and order situation, according to private TV, Prime Minister Imran Khan said on the occasion of the meeting of the Federal Cabinet. That miscreant will not be allowed to disturb the peace of the country under the guise of protest.
According to the agreement, the demands of Tehreek-e-Lubaik will be presented in the parliament. There were reports of benefits.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the next 24 hours are important, hopefully, the situation will improve. On the other hand, in a meeting chaired by Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed regarding law and order, it was decided that those who break the law Strict action will be taken and all steps will be taken to clear the way.
During the protest, an emergency meeting was held under the chairmanship of Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on the issue of closing all major highways of the country. The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Pir Noorul Haq Qadri, Chief Commissioner Islamabad Amir Ahmad Ali, and IG Islamabad Police Qazi Jamil-ur-Rehman. Meanwhile, Chief Secretary Punjab and IG Punjab Police attended the meeting through video link.
According to private TV, the meeting decided that those who have broken the law and damaged property will be dealt with severely. In the meeting, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has given a full mandate to all stakeholders to open the closed roads.
The meeting said mobile phone service and internet service could also be shut down for 24 hours where conditions are bad. The meeting stated that there was no need for blackmail.
The footage on social media regarding damage to government property and civilian vehicles should be protected and action should be taken against those responsible and anyone who takes the law into their own hands should be dealt with.
