An emergency meeting of inter-provincial education ministers were held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood in which the resumption of classes in educational institutions were discussed.
NCOC officials told the participants that corona cases were on the rise, adding that it would be better if educational institutions were not opened now, but all provincial education ministers recommended starting board classes.
It was decided at the meeting that online coaching will continue in the higher-rated universities of Corona, schools from 1st to 8th will be closed till Eid while educational institutions from 9th to 12th will be reopened with strict Corona SOPs from today. Board exams will be held on new dates.
Federal Minister Shafqat Mahmood said that classes IX to XII in the affected districts would be skipped for one day so that students could prepare for the board exams. Examinations for classes IX to XII would not be held before the last week of May.
