The
Election Commission of Pakistan has taken the final decision not to go to the
consultation held in the President's House.
The
spokesperson of the Election Commission of Pakistan says that the officials of
the Election Commission will not participate in the meeting of the President's
House.
According
to the spokesperson of the Election Commission, a decision was taken in this regard
in an important meeting chaired by the Chief Election Commission on Punjab and
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly elections.
The
spokesperson of the Election Commission says that it was decided in the meeting
that the Election Commission has given a reply to the President of Pakistan on
February 19
According to the spokesperson of the Election Commission, it was
said in the important meeting that the matter of elections is pending in
various judicial forums.
The spokesperson of the Election Commission also says that it
was also decided in the meeting of the Election Commission that they cannot be
a part of the consultation process of the Presidential Office
Secretary Election Commission's letter
to the President
Secretary Election Commission Umar Hameed wrote
a letter to the Secretary of the President on the date of the election for the Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab Assembly elections.
The letter states that the Election Commission has clarified the
facts in its 2 letters on February 18 and 19. The Commission also held a
meeting on this issue today.
The Secretary
Election Commission says in the letter that it was decided in the meeting that
the election matters are pending in the courts, therefore the Election
Commission cannot participate in the meeting held today in the President's
House.

It should be noted that President
Dr. Arif Hussain Alvi has invited the Chief Election Commissioner to the
President's House on February 20 to give the date of the provincial elections
of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
